Frequently Asked Questions
Do you all require dogs to have vaccinations?
Yes! We require all dogs to have up to date Bordetella, Rabies, and Distemper vaccinations. We require all puppies to vaccinated based on what is appropriate to their age.
What should I bring to class?
Please bring your dog, their favorite treats, and a flat collar and leash for your first visit. Should it be agreed that your dog would benefit from a training collar, such as a Starmark or Herm Sprenger Prong Collar, we can work with you to select, fit, and properly train your dog using either.
Please note, we do not allow dogs to participate in class with E Collars, Slip Leads, or Retractable Leashes.
What is your policy on dog parks?
We recommend to all dog owners to not take their dogs to dog parks. Dog parks are overstimulating and overwhelming to dogs, and often result in your dog being aggressive, scared, or hyper focused on other dogs.
Do the dogs get to play together before, during, or after class?
No. We do not allow dogs in class to interact before, during, or after class. This helps prevent distractions and keeps your dog focused on the task at hand. We always advise dog owners to never allow dogs to greet on leash.
What if I forgot my treats?
If you don’t have your treats with you, don’t worry! Our on site shop is always stocked with the highest quality treats that are guaranteed to keep your dog interested and excited.
Can I bring my children to class?
We allow children 7 and up to come to class and we encourage the entire family to get involved with training their dog! First, your trainer will show your dog a command, then you, as parents, will continue to reinforce the command. Lastly, your child will tell the dog the command. We allow the child to go last so that the command has been reinforced to set both child and dog up for success.
